Bring Your Own Device Freedom

The entire Scadsys suite of software is built on technology that supports true mobile computing. The Scadsys platform allow users the freedom to select the most appropriate device for the task, for example: it is difficult to build a timetable on a device that does not support the use of a mouse, in cases like this it is more effective to use the Scadsys Administration application installed on Windows. When accessing information, doing attendance in the class room or evaluating the rugby team next to the field, it is more effective to use a tablet.

Knowledge Management

Schools and Colleges have large volumes of content and education material that needs to be managed and controlled to have a single version of the truth. Content is any form of digital media, i.e. documents, spreadsheets, drawings, images, sound, videos, reports, discussions, blogs, email, instant messaging, fax, eBooks, invoices, course material, etc. To manage content Scadsys implements a 7 stage content life cycle. ScadCo makes use of Office 365, OneNote and Skype to stream content to student devices, live in the class room. Students have access to educator notes and make their own study notes directly on their devices. OneNote and Skype runs on all hardware platforms (Apple, Andriod and Windows).

Text Book Stock Control

Management of text books is a critcal activity which schools and colleges perform once a year. This involve forecasting and ordering of text books for the following year and the allocation and issuing of text books to students. At the end of the year text books are returned and re-allocated to the next grade's students. Scadsys have a complete solution to forecast, order, issue and managing returns of text books.

Feeding Scheme Management

Scadsys has the capability to manage feeding schemes throught the Scadsys Point-of-Sale system, deployed at tuck-shops. The Scadsys POS has full sales, ordering and inventory management capabilities.

Cashless Institutions

Scadsys with its integration to PayGate payment provider, has the capability to enable true cashless environments for educational institutions. Students and parents transact with the institution through the Scadsys Portal to order, buy, pay, collect or redeem school items. These items can be anything from School Fees, Food and drinks, Clothing and Uniforms, Books, Membership fees, etc or even Tickets or Collections for the Matric dance, Civvies day, Cake and Candy Days or a School tour. Scadsys automates these processes and make it easy for educators, financial and other staff, to deal with these situations. Cashless environments bring large cost savings (cash transfer costs) and reduce risk for staff at school. It is a know fact that robbers target schools as they receive and keep large amounts of cash on site. By removing the cash on site, the risk is mitigated, and cash transfer costs are eliminated. Scadsys automate all parent and student transactions with the institution with no manual workload for staff.

Be Informed

The Scadsys Notification system allow schools and colleges to send messages in real time to parents, students and educators, when pre-determined events occur, i.e. inform parents when a child is not at school, when a discipline entry is received, test result, etc. Notifications can be sent by email, SMS or the Scadsys Communicator app installed on most mobile devices. Messages to the Scadsys Communicator is free and there is no advertising displayed on the device.
